Professional development for veteran teachers

I've been having a series of interesting conversations with John and Forest about the AP Institute in St. Johnsbury, VT. My first thought was why can't we do that here (shamelessly wearing my summer programs hat). But then I started thinking about the wider issue of training and development for veteran teachers. What an exciting thing it seems like it was for our three teachers to have done this (Kristen took part too), energizing and refreshing. A major part of the program was lesson plan sharing and networking opportunties in addition to instruction by master educators.

Perhaps Jen could talk with us more about these kinds of opportunitites or perhaps we can create them here for ourselves?
