Blogging as an educational tool

Here are my thoughts on what we could use blogging as an educational tool. I know private google groups have been used by Amy last year for furthering in class discussion. How did that go I wonder?

- Continue in class discussion & be able to document participation more acurately
- Explore threads of discussion that you didn't have time for in class
- Use as a classroom management tool, publish links to resources, webquests, homework. Many colleges do this - PSU has their WebCT for example
- Use as a way to publish student work
- Build support for a program by sharing it with a wider audience
- Create links with other students at other schools doing similar work
- Teach responsible use of technology
- Engage students in dialog with adults / students outside our school
